Jenny Scheinman kicks off The New Jewish Music Series with an evening of adventurous, genre-defying music rooted in jazz and contemporary composition.

A widely acclaimed violinist and composer, Scheinman has collaborated with artists ranging from Joni Mitchell to Lucinda Williams to progressive Jazz luminary Bill Frisell. Her own work spans genres and has explored Jewish musical traditions through albums like The Rabbi's Lover on John Zorn’s Tzadik Records — one of the seminal recordings of the New Jewish Music movement.

For this special performance, she brings her latest project One Hundred Years Today to Columbus — new music inspired by stories from her Jewish grandmother's remarkable journey through Europe in the 1930s.
